After marriage, Zhang Dengxi relied on his father - in - law's connections to thrive in his career. However, he continuously drugged Li He, preventing her from having children. Using this as an excuse, he took Xiaorou as his concubine and even planned to make Li He die an unexplained death. After Li He discovered this, she joined hands with Liu Hanyan to seek revenge. During this process, Xiaorou also saw through Zhang Dengxi's true nature. Eventually, Li He and the Prince Heng became a couple. As promised, they adopted Liu Hanyan's child.
